Description
The University of Chicago NSF-Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program offers qualified undergraduates an opportunity to conduct leading edge, contemporary, research in a laboratory or research group. Twice-weekly faculty seminars and field trips to nearby national laboratories (Fermilab and Argonne) provides an introduction to the breadth of research areas and research environments in physics.
We particularly encourage members of underrepresented minority groups and women to apply. The program runs from June 15 through August 21, 2009. A stipend of $4,500, free housing, and a modest travel expense reimbursement are provided. We plan to award ten to fifteen internships for this ten-week program.
