MentorNet - How to get a mentor

 
To sign up with MentorNet go to http://www.mentornet.net.   Then click on the SIGN ME UP button or on Join on the top right.


 
 

 
Once you have created an account look on the top navigation tabs and select One on One Mentoring

 

 
 
From there you select 'Find a Mentor'.  As you complete your profile please be sure to select National Society of Black Physicists under
 
How did you hear about MentorNet? [Check all that apply]  -->
Please check all professional societies and special projects to which you belong:
On the Fields/Careers Information step there are several choices to indicate your field(s) of study.  The several choices that are most applicable to NSBP members include
Astronomy
Physics - Atomic, Molecular, Optical
Physics - Condensed Matter and Materials
Physics - Fluids, Plasma, Non-linear
Physics - General/Other
Physics - Medical
Physics - Nuclear, Particle, Astrophysics
 
You can select various attributes of your mentor.  Importantly you can select that they be a member of a specific professional society.  NSBP is a choice here, as is the Society of Physics Students (SPS).
 
 
Finally, you can always edit or delete your mentor profile, or your entire MentorNet account by going to the 'My Profiles" tab.
