November 29: Physics Day Camp with Girls Inc. of The Greater Peninsula, Hampton, VA

The National Society of Black Physicists and Girls Inc. of the Greater Peninsula have entered into a new partnership in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This is an exciting time for both organizations, as this unique and historical collaboration will provide new opportunities for many girls within the Hampton Roads area. With this partnership, we anticipate and foresee that girls who are attending one of the various Girls Inc. sites across the area to increase their knowledge in STEM disciplines, and subsequently increase the state and national enrollment in advanced STEM degrees.

This partnership was officially launched at the beginning of the 2012 summer camp. On November 29, 2012, a dedicated “Physics Day Camp” modeled after a program from NSBP will occur at the Hampton Roads Convention Center preceding the 2012 People of Influence Fundraising Gala of Girls Inc.
