Dissertation of the Year Prize
The National Society of Black
Physicists annually
awards a Dissertation of the Year Prize. Candidates for this
prize should have received the Ph.D. in physics (or closely related
field) during a period not longer than 3 years and no shorter than 1
year from the year in which the award is given. The award is
usually given at the NSBP annual conference in February.
Nominations for the award should be sent to

and include the following:
- The full name, address, telephone
number
and e-mail address of the nominee and the Ph.D. dissertation advisor
or committee chair.
- The date and title of the
dissertation and the
University which awarded the degree
- An abstract of the dissertation
including a
specific discussion of the issues and attributes of the work (very
briefly) that makes it worthy of this award.
- A copy of the final dissertation.
Nominees should be prepared to discuss
the
dissertation with the selection committee. All nominations must
be received on or before December 1st.
